Carbis Mill is set in a quiet riverside valley which is surrounded by two acres of woodland and gardens. This provides a peaceful setting for our luxury cottages. We chose this location for its privacy and natural beauty to offer our guests a restful environment away from the busy tourist areas.
Guests often tell us how much they enjoy the tranquillity of the setting and how the gentle sound of the River Hayle creates a relaxing atmosphere for them. Our gardens are a great place to relax and blend well with the natural surroundings. There are plenty of places to sit outdoors and enjoy the calm. At night there is no street lighting which allows you to see clear skies and provides the perfect opportunity to look at the stars.
From your cottage you can follow the riverside trails into the village of St Erth which is an easy 15-minute walk away. You will find essential amenities such as a local pub, shop and post office. You can access the woodland paths directly from the cottages where you can take a leisurely walk or look for local wildlife without the need to drive anywhere.
We have designed the outdoor areas to be private and peaceful so you can get the most out of your stay. Corn Loft has a private garden with seating and River Cottage has a secluded garden which is ideal for guests and their dogs. Both of the cottages offer outdoor furniture so you can relax and have al fresco dining.
The location of Carbis Mill is ideal if you’re looking for restful days without having to venture far. Our location allows you to easily explore the local countryside, walk to the village for lunch and unwind by the river. It’s the perfect place to slow down, recharge and enjoy the wonderful Cornish countryside.
